To supervise regional research staff and coordinate operations for a large scale reproductive health studies being conducted throughout New Hamp! shire. To ensure integrity of study design, study protocols, data management and data analysis for studies.
Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of research methodology, including data collection methods.
Ability to implement complex research protocols and to supervise data collection at numerous sites.
Knowledge of laboratory procedures, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and concepts of disease. Particular knowledge of obstetrics helpful.
Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
Ability to take initiative, balance competing demands and make sound judgment.
Excellent verbal communication, including skill in making presentations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, permitting effective interaction with study participants, research staff and collaborators.
Knowledge of basic statistics
Computer and database processing skills
Minimum Experience
Three years of relevant ex! perience in a medical or clinical environment with direct pati! ent care and supervisory responsibilities or the equivalent.
Two years experience as a Study Coordinator in a similar setting.
Minimum Education
Master’s degree in health or social sciences or the equivalent combination of education and experiences.

Key Accountabilities
Coordination and Supervision
Supervises, coordinators and research assistants responsible for recruiting and interviewing study participants and managing study data and biological specimens at multiple study sites. Participates in recruiting and interviewing potential study personnel. Trains or arranges for training of new staff in interviewing techniques, study protocols, administering questionnaires, collection of study data, extensive sample collection. Conducts annual performance evaluations! of staff.
Monitors recruitment and interviewing/enrollment staff to ensure study enrollment goals are met and interviews/enrollment appointments are scheduled/conducted in an efficient manner.
Oversees general research operations including participant recruitment and enrollment, scheduling of specimen/data collection. Advises Research Director and Principal Investigator of progress, needed modifications to day to day procedures/operations to ensure work flow efficiency and productivity.
Conducts verification of participant eligibility, recruitment of participants, monitoring study reports, completed interview data and other interview related materials.
Works closely with other team members to coordinate requests for specimens, storage and processing of biological specimens collected during interviews/enrollment, study questionnaires and other data.
Reviews completed questionnaires, study materials and interview recordings for co! mpleteness, accuracy and adherence to protocol. Contacts subjects as ne! eded to obtain additional information if necessary.
Updates and monitors quality of research databases.
Assists research director with protocol and study form development and updates, maintenance and organization of study materials.
Assists with related follow up projects including participant notification of study results and updates.
Medical Records
Oversees medical record reviews and ensures that monthly goals are met.
Abstracts clinical history and patient outcome information from patient charts and reports
Develops working relationships with the medical and administrative staff at each practice or
institution where data are being collected.
Database Management
Assists with oversight of data editing
Assists with coordination of research activities involving data management
Serves as a liaison to statistical analysts and other investigators performing statistical a! nalyses
Runs basic statistical reports
Other
Must be willing to work as a team member and coordinate with other studies and study personnel within Section to promote efficiency and cost effective processes.
May assist research director with IRB submissions, gathering data for required progress reports, grant submissions and other related documents.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive long distances if needed for interviews/enrollment appointments and supervision of staff working in the field.
