To coordinate the availability and maintenance of instruments and specialty supplies and equipment, and function as an integral member of t! he Operating Room team and contribute to maintaining a professional, respectful and effective patient care and work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinating adequate supplies and equipment for the OR specialty heads.
·
Promoting effective, efficient patient care throughout the perioperative assisting in maintaining a clean, safe and efficient patient care environment.
·
Promote continuity in turnover time.
·
Functions as a purchasing coordinator for all Operating Room RN specialty heads in the areas of OBGYN, Neuro, Ortho, Ueuro, General, Eyes, Plastics, and EMT.
Works directly with the OR Buyer in purchasing required inventory.
Orders the necessary items in advance by monitoring the schedule.

Coordinates and oversees the availability and preparedness of instruments, specialty supplies and equipment needed to ensure efficient and effective p! erioperative processes.

Maintains an envi! ronment which consistently meets all safety, infection control and quality standards.

Provides support to registered nurses and other operating room personnel in order to ensure safe, effective and efficient patient care processes.

Ensures a professional, respectful and effective patient care and working environment through consistent use of appropriate interpersonal and communication skills:

Serves as a department resource for all OR equipment and supplies.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
A minimum of two years’ experience as either an Operating Room Support Technician or working in Sterile Processing Department required.
Certification/Licensure:
Certification as Sterile Processing Technician desirable. BCLS Certification required within three months of date of hire.
